Hi there, How do I configure my printer and scanner to work in XP on Parallels/Mac? I need to use either an HP PSC 1210 printer/scanner combo or the alternative of a separate HP DeskJet 5650 and an HP ScanJet 3970 Scanner on XP. I found Bonjour for Windows, installed it, and using my 5650 printer as a generic postscript device; however, there is a lot of "squeaking" from the printer when it is printing. Otherwise, fine. What I'm wondering is whether there is a better solution, ie moving the PSC 1210 printer/scanner combo over to the iMac from its current location on a separate (networked through router) Windows XP computer. (Note that this separate computer is not always turned "on", so this is not an easy solution.) If I switch to the 1210 on the iMac would this then allow me to have scanner features on the iMac in both the Mac OS and the Guest XP OS then it's not a problem to swap the devices around. Basically what I need to know is whether I can use one of my scanners in the XP Guest OS. How to configure it to work? All have USB ports. Problem is the scanner is only USB, whereas the two printers have serial ports as well. Advice and suggestions much appreciated. Thanks so much!
