I am new to Parallels. I want to backup my Windows Vista before anything goes wrong. What is the best way to do this? 1. Install a backup program in Windows and backup? 2. Backup entire OS X (that includes Parallels)? Or.... Does Parallels have a built-in backup? Appreciate the assistance
I think you just have to copy the Vista folder in /Library/Parallels to a safe location. Keep that folder safe and you'll always have your OS.
Personally, I just back up OS/x (my entire hard drive) every night and it automatically backs up Parallels and XP. I use a product called SuperDuper!, which does this automatically at night. I would caution that if you are using bootcamp, you may need to separately back up the bootcamp partition. I don't use bootcamp so I don't have detailed procedures for this.
