Could you please help me understand the typical RAM usage on a MacBook Pro with the M4 Pro chip running macOS 15.5 Sequoia in the following scenarios?
    1. When the system is idle with no applications running.
    2. When Parallels Desktop is open, but no virtual machine is running.
    3. When running a Windows 11 virtual machine via Parallels Desktop.
    4. When running Power BI Desktop inside the Windows 11 VM.
    Is 48 GB good enough?

    Hello Alex,

To best answer your questions, you can test a trial of Parallels Desktop. It is free of charge and does not require any payment details.

You may proceed using the link provided below:

I think the reason Alex is asking is because he wants to know if 48gb is good enough for his new MacBook. He hasn't bought his MacBook yet - so a trial Parallels will not work for Alex

I am running Parallels with 16gb RAM and it runs great. If u spec it to 48GB - it will definitely have no issues
