I get a video card error message every time I boot windows. And if I try to install parallel tools, Windows reboots. Any suggestions!!
Bumper, Try this: 1. Go to Start->Control Panel->System 2. Select "Hardware" Tab and click "Device Manager" 3. Expand "Display Adapter" group. 4. Right-click the display adapter listed there and select "Uninstall". 5. When finished, try installing Parallels Tools again.
Thank you...But!!! Good suggestion, but it didn't work. I think I have a problem with Parallel tools, it worked on my original install, than when I upgraded to 3086 it gave me the video error. Can I total uninstall Parallels and reinstall it? Debbie
Yep. Just shut everything down, and then back-up your files (on an external, say). Then, set-up a new machine using your old .hdd file you backed-up.
One other option from my disaster Boot to safe mode. Uninstall and re-install tools, ALL from safe mode. Best of luck as that was the only way I was able to do it and succeeded. rdinsd
Here, I wrote an un-install and install process as part of this thread: http://forum.parallels.com/thread10384.html
Thanks all, I found I had to 1. un-install my virus protection, 2. start up in safe mode than install the tools.
