How do I know which .pvs I'm using?

Looking at the config. pane...I can't see anything that tells me the location of the particular .pvs I'm using. I can see the path to the .hdd file, no problem...

Also, the virtual machine name doesn't seem to have to bear any resemblance to the name of the .pvs...

I've lost track of which .pvs/.hdd I'm using, and while I can choose it from the list at the start, I can't seem to locate its files to back up the damn thing...

This information must be in Prefs or Configuration...mustn't it?

by default the files are stored inside your home directory, in the documents folder, in the parallels folder.

    Well, thanks for that, Barry.

But how do I know which .pvs file I'm using?

Start Parallels - not a vm, just Parallels. Select File->Open...->Choose... This will open a panel that will tell you what folder Parallels is looking in to find your vm.

    Ahh! Of course...Thanks, dkp...

But you'd think there would be an explicit path in Configuration, like there is for the .hdd file...
