I recently got a new Mac, running snow leopard (yes, snow leopard). I migrated from my old machine on which I was running Parallels 3, found it won't run on the new machine, and downloaded a Parallels 6 trial copy. I am having a devil of a time with basic tasks. I always use coherence mode. First problem: I used to be able to move between Parallels and Mac programs by using cmd-tab. That does not work with the new version, Parallels does not appear in the list of options. Is there a way to fix that? Second, the Mac has a bar at the top of the screen (I don't know what it is called) with an apple on the left, various icons on the right and menu items for the program that is currently on top (e.g. Firefox, file, edit ... or System Preferences, edit, view ...). In my old version, there was a parallels version of this, but it is not there in the new version. Is there someway I can recover that? Enormously more convenient than going to the parallels icon and clicking on it two or three times, with different keys held down, until I find what I want. I mistakenly went into full screen mode, and I did not even have the icon, so to get out I had to go to Start-shut down computer (yes, there is somne cryptic key combination to get back, but that does not count since I don't normally use full screen view). Again, is there some way I can get that Mac-standard top of screen bar? Third, key combinations in the legacy Windows application I got this for no longer work properly. How can I fix them. The real problem is that the info under "help" is woefully inadequate and written in some peculiar language that consists of English plus a whole bunch of terms that mean something to the person who wrote it but mean nothing to most people. Is there better documentation somewhere?
Hi, Did you install Parallels tools, into your Virtual Machine with each new version of Parallels you need to reinstall the tools. Also once you have selected your VM exit cohearence mode (see if this is q more familar view).
