The host operating system stalls (for minutes at a time, even the seconds in the clock stop counting) when parallels runs. This is especially the case, when installing something in the guest sys.
While installing win 7 I couldn't use the mac. It took 20 seconds for every little input to be responded to.
I was in the beta testing program and I reported this exact problem. Told me to use 1 core. Well, it also happens with 1 core.

And If I want to submit an feedback inside parallels, I get a connection error. Makes me trust this app even more.

My Rig: 2x.2.26 GHz MacPro (Nehalem), 6GB Ram, 120GB SSD Drive

This still happens. It doesn't matter what guest OS you're using (vista or xp). As soon as the guest OS accesses the harddisk, the host becomes sluggish, and so does the guest.
Am I the only one experiencing this? Is this what I should expect from Parallels?
