Setting up server and client sockets for serial ports on the VM side is easy, but what do I do on the Mac side as far as sockets go. I have two serial ports (provided by USB-to-Serial adapters) on the Mac (OSX) side and would like to have them available to the VM through sockets. Yes, I know that I could bind the ports directly to the VM, but transfer rates are very slow this way. Short 9600 baud data burst work OK, but burst of several seconds or more always fail. It appears the VM just can't keep up. I'm hoping that, by shifting flow control and buffering to the Mac side and using sockets, I might get better performance.
