so i just installed bootcamp last night and have win xp running on it. I have my mac HD partitioned and windows installed on that partition. Now i am extremely confused on how to use parallel. How do i let parallels know that i already have windows xp installed on my hd from installing bootcamp or do i need to install windows again when parallel tells me to. basically do i need to install win xp again for parallels to work or can i direct parallels to my first install of windows from bootcamp. Thanks

    Not supported.

Bootcamp and Parallels are entirely separate.

Parallels cannot boot from a Windows XP partition at the moment.
You need to install Windows XP again, inside a Parallels disk image.
You'll end up having two copies of XP installed on your machine, one inside a real XP partition and one inside a Parallels disk image.

Personally, I deleted my XP boot camp partition as I found that Parallels was fast enough and robust enough to take on the task I needed XP for.

    Hope this helps.
