My MacBook Pro beachballed and I did a hard reboot while Parallels was running Linux as a guest OS. After that my guest Linux worked but was running very hot. Then it got worse. Now I can only work in console mode. X server crushes a few seconds into the session. I uninstalled Parallels Tools. That did not help. I can work in console mode, but cannot launch X server. I did not take snapshots. Reinstallation is a bad option. I had plenty of packages installed. Any help will be very appreciated.
