    Hi,

I am not very computer literate and have only in the last year moved to Mac from PC.

I presently run Windows 7 in Parallels on my MacBook Pro (Lion) though I am still rather unfamiliar with their relationship.

I am about to take delivery of an iMac Desk Top with a 1TB Serial Drive and 256GB SS Drive. I plan to remove my 1TB Time Capsule from the MacBookPro to the iMac. I plan to save all my data to the 1TB Serial Drive and install all my applications on the SSD drive.

I have two basic questions to ask.

When I install Parallels and Windows7 on the SSD drive along side all my other Mac applications I presume I have to partition the drive but how much should I allocate to Parallels, bearing in mind that data generated will be saved on the Serial Drive?

My intention is to use the TimeCapsule for Backing up the SSD and an External Drive for backing up the Serial (Data) Drive. Can anybody confirm that the TimeCapsule will back up the Parallels partition? I thought I had read somewhere that TC could not do that, which seems odd to me, so I would appreciate the views of anybody with this experience.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    John

you don't need to partition drive for Parallels. Parallels created virtual hard drives for Virtual Machines which are saved as files (bundles) on the Mac hard drive and being backed up together with all other files in your Documents directory
