Hey there. I had to take my mac to an Apple store for repairs lately, and they wound up having to reinstall OS X from scratch. While I had a backup and was able to put parallels and my guest OS back on there, my new user account has a different name than my last one, so parallels no longer finds the unattended.fdd image file automatically because the home folder it was used to looking in doesn't exist anymore. I have to manually select the unattended.fdd each time I boot up the guest OS. The cd drive has similar problems, and naturally the old shared folders that I had do as well. Is there anyway I can get these problems fixed? I am running OS 10.5.3. Parallels is build 5600 running XP Service Pack 3.
try opening the VM manually but before running it clone it (also to an external hard disk as an extra back up) then Parallels will "know" the path to that new clone VM another way would be to open (but not run) the original back up copy and clone it to the new location Hugh W
