Hi, I'd like to know the best way to download an upgraded version of Mavericks and only install it on a virtual partition. I can only download the update to my host but cannot install it only to the virtual (Guest) OS. How can I accomplish this?

You could do it a couple ways. After you've downloaded the ~5GB installation file, click on the "+" button in Parallels, or go to File > New. Click "Install Windows or another OS...". You can click "Find automatically" and Parallels will find the Mavericks installation file you downloaded. Or you could click "Image File", then drag and drop the installation file.
