A colleague using VMware Fusion and myself in Parallels 8 have both had issues in Windows 8 running Citrix Gotomeeting. Both on Macbook Pro's Retina displays. Sound breakup and dropping out seems to be the main issue in VMware Fusion. In my case in Parallels 8 and Windows 8 I was running (Not hosting) a Gotomeeting session in conjunction with a website app demo. It started off Ok but gradually got less and less responsive. Additionally the laptop temperature (case) went up and the battery was draining very quickly. After about 10 minutes running Gotomeeting reported audio issues and and a few minutes later dropped out altogether. So is there an issue in general with running conference calls on Gotomeeting and similar programs in a virtual machine. Or is there a solution. No such issues seen running Gotomeeting on a Windows only computer.
