    hi i am using a wifi router, OS X can access the internet via that router.

    XP bootet in bridged Airport mode gets an IP via the DHCP router but cannot ping the router.

    these pings work:

    OS X -> WinXP
    WINXP -> OS X
    OS X -> Router

    but no WinXP -> Router ping works.

    any solutions?

    in Beta 5 it worked well, in RC1 XP stole my OS Xs IP and now in RC2 it doesnt, but i cannot access internet.

    thx for any help

    bye

    I just changed the network adapter from en0: Ethernet adapter to en1: Airport/Wireless Adapter and my internet access works. With Beta 5 I had to use en0: Ethernet adapter for wireless access.

    Better you choose Default adapter. It will give you number of advatages:

    1. It will choose active connection automatically at VM startup.
    2. It will change connection on the fly when VM is running.

    PS: en0 is usually wired and en1 is usually wireless.

    Linksys DHCP=good; Cisco DHCP=broken

    Hello,

    I'm also having DHCP problems. I have two subnets on my home network. When Parallels via Airport is getting DHCP from the Linksys router, it works fine. When I switch Airport to the other subnet, Parallels gets an IP, but it can't ping the gateway. The DHCP server on the other subnet is a Cisco 800 series router, with a Netgear wireless bridge. Parallels also works fine when I use wired Ethernet on the Cisco subnet.

    regards,
    Greg

    i switched to default but same problem.

    In system preferences I don't have a parallels network adapter!

    there is only one that says Ethernet Adapter ((null))

    so no en2 like I used to have in Beta5 and RC1!
    is that the problem?

    philo,

    Try to uninstall RC2, reboot, install RC2 again, reboot. It seems that installation failed to install network drivers for some reason.

    hi,

    the problem was i did not reboot after isntalling RC2 (the installation wizard did not ask me to do so). so after reinstalling i now have the Parallel Host Adapter. I can use Host-Only and Shared Internet Connection, but still the Bridged Ethernet/Airport does not work. I get the IP but cannot access anything - I can only ping the OS X machine but not the Gateway...

    thanks
    philo
