I have a vanilla Ubuntu 8.04 install as a guest OS. When working in the gnome desktop, if I try to drag any windows, they don't move as they should, but instead slide slowly to the left. Strangely enough, I can drag icons on the desktop correctly though. This behavior occur with SmartMouse turned On or on Auto. If I turn SmartMouse off, this problem goes away, but instead there are visual artifacts that are so bad it makes the program almost impossible to use. I've searched the forums and knowledge base for clues, and found a few postings regarding SmartMouse issues, but nothing that gave me a line of attack. Does anyone have any pointers on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks.
