I have a parallels VM that I created from a VMware VM, that was a complete clone of a PC. initially the VM was 65gb...I still have the original but somehow this thing has bloated to 150gb even though I have actually removed things from the VM. there is only about 50gb actual data use in the VM. I used the compressor but it says that the 150gb vm will be 150gb after compression. I ran it anyway and sure enough, it didnt shrink it at all. what can I do to shrink down the disk size of this VM ?
Hello Mike, Please try to use the Disk Defragmenter MMC in order to defragment your hard drive, try to compress the disk afterwards: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314848/en-us (for Windows XP)
