I recently changed mac from an old iMac to a shiny new 2.66 ghz one. The Intel chip means that I can't play a couple of Classic games anymore, - one in particular, Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. As it's one of my fav games of all time, I spent time and money getting a copy of it on eBay. I fired up my nice new installation of Parallels (it runs XP Pro) which has already worked for several games (such as elite force 2, star wars battlefront 2...) and started installing the game. Everything works fine, though a couple glitches make the installer crash, so I restart and it goes smoothly. This game has an issue which makes it not work properly on XP, it's so old, so I download a patch addressing this problem. I try running the game without the patch; it starts up, cinematics ad adverts appear, then instead of the main menu coming up, a black screen with music blaring out. So I install the patch. Exactly the same outcome. Desperate, I get a multi-platform friend to try to Ciderize it. No luck. Help me. This is an awesome game if anyone can get it running on parallels for me, please tell me how. warning; I am a total windows noob and a mac devotee. So if your solution is to buy a pc, it's no Please? Thanks a LOT if you can help. I had one thought; would it be possible to connect up my old mac which barely works to the new one so I can use the new one as a monitor?
