    I have been unable to get a game working in Parallels 9 (Company of Heroes 2) so would like to try to use it in Boot Camp instead. I don't want to have to purchase another Windows license though - is there a way to a) play this game or b) create a Boot Camp partition using my Parallels install?

    Hello drbrake,

    It isn't possible to create a Boot Camp partition from Parallels install.

    Please follow the steps as given below :

    Shut down the Virtual Machine by clicking on Virtual Machine -> Shutdown

    Do not close Parallels Desktop window.

    Go to VM Config ( http://kb.parallels.com/117287 ) -> Hardware -> Video -> 3D acceleration -> Change it to : DirectX 9

    Also disable the option : Enable Vertical Synchronization under 3D acceleration

    Restart the Virtual Machine and reinstall Parallels Tools once as suggested at : http://kb.parallels.com/4841 and check how it goes!!!

    The truth is that it is possible but requires more advanced knowledge. But please follow Parallels rep advice first.

    The procedure to clone a an existing installation of Windows to another hardware environment (that's what you are after, technically) is not a straightforward procedure and it's best to try other options first. The procedure is very much the same as cloning from one physical machine to another, and there are programs and tutorials on the web for that, requires some more advanced knowledge to understand how to adapt it to a VM.
