I'm extremely interested in Parallels workstation for my MBP. Do you need a full version of Windows to install or will an upgrade disk work?

Also, can Windows be run within a window in OS X or do you have to run it full screen?

    Thanks.

Yes, you need to purchase a copy of WIndows XP.

WIndows can run happily either full screen or in a window, and you can switch back and forth easily, even while Windows is running.

Using an upgrade didn't work in the earlier betas but it may be possible with the more recent versions. You may need to create iso images from the upgrade and an iso of the previous version of Windows. Then you can start the install with Parallels points to the newer Windows iso then point it to the older image when Windows asks for the old CD.

Since you can download the beta for free why not give it a try.

And yes, Windows (or any guest OS) can run in a window or full screen.

Actually, it's no problem if you successfully create a bootable .iso of both your XP upgrade and your older Windows version as well. Then mount the XP iso, and during installation when it asks you to insert your older Windows disc, disconnect the XP iso and connect the older iso. I was able to succesfully install XP pro from W2000, and I've read about others doing it with 98.

So go for it and support Parallels -- they're rocking.
