Everything was fine but now when I go to full screen mode the change happens differently. The screen used to flip around - now it kind of blinks and goes to full screen and my resolution is messed up - all the icons are much larger. When I go to fix the screen resolution to the more normal small icons it takes the change but when I go back to the small screen and then back to full screen it reverts to the screen resolution with the large icons. Help - what happened and how do I fix this. Tom
I suppose you are describing situation, when you return from full screen in Windows to mac OS, resolution is very low If yes, please clear change Mac OS resolution on Parallels Desktop -Preferences - Appearance
Thanks for the response. No, it was a bizarre issue that happened when I went to full screen and the screen resolution changed. I ended up reinstalling parallels and parallels tools and all is now OK. Thanks again
I have the same problem (though with a Fedora 7 guest). "Change Mac OS X Resolution" *is* unchecked. I usually run Parallels in full screen on my second monitor. This is Parallels 5608 on OS 10.5.4. It started a week or two ago, maybe after upgrading Parallels or the OS, I am not sure. It is really frustrating - the whole desktop stays "zoomed in", I cannot reach the Dock or the Menu bar. The only way I found to get the proper resolution back is by killing Parallels and logging out.
I installed 10.5.4. And SmartSleep (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/smartsleep.html)
full screen mode into windows does not go to native resolution Hi, I'm having the same problem as the original poster. New Mac Pro Quad 2.8Ghz Xeon with 6GB RAM. Video card is an ATI HD2600XT. LCD is a ViewSonic VX2025WM. Going from a windowed Vista installation into full screen mode (it fades into full screen) the result is a resolution of 1360x768, where the native resolution is 1680x1050. I installed Parallels from the box which was 3.0-4128, and installed Parallels Tools 4128 as well. Downloaded and installed 3.0-5608 and then installed 5608 Parallels Tools. I will give a try to uninstalling Parallels and reinstalling, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling Parallels Tools, but any help is welcome! Kris
I would like to know does reinstall help? Please do not forget also clear change Mac OS resolution on Parallels Desktop -Preferences - Appearance
UPDATE: unchecking the "change mac os x resolution" solved the problem. i did not try to uninstall and reinstall. thanks!
Reinstalling did not solve it for me. I't still happening, and the resolution box is unchecked. My workaround is pressing Alt-Enter (mapped to toggle-fullscreen for me), wait a few seconds to see if it goes normal, and repeat if necessary. After 4-5 iterations it gets unzoomed again.
