Full screen 1680x1050 on Suse 10.1 or Ubuntu
Hi,
I'm sorry but I'm a macuser who really don't know anything about Linux. So I'm trying to understand but it's very difficult (you may excuse my poor english, I'm french)
I have both Ubuntu (the last live cd) and Suse 10.1 on VM, I have a 20" Imac intel, and I can't get more than 800x600 on suse and 1024x768 on ubuntu.
I know there's a lot of thread about it, I red them but It seems that it was for people who already knew few things about linux.
For exemple, speaking of the "xorg.conf" editing, I just don't know how to do it, because there a lot of sings to know about the "konsole" or "terminal"...
So If someone would be kind enough to explain me with all the details, (not just "connect you on root with firestarter" or things like that, because I won't have any idea of what exactly is "firestarter" (still searching) and how to naviguate in root) what I must do to have the full screen. I already sayed on the installation that I wanted a 1680 x 1050 resolution, in 16/10, and I also did it in the preference panel of my VM.
So I beg you to teach me the way to do it, and then I'll be able to discover linux. (cause I'wont do it in 800x600...)
