I assume that I should treat the virtual installation of Windows XP3 Pro as if it were a real machine and that it is vulnerable to viruses just like a real machine. Is my assumption correct? There are close to 120 updates available between OS hot fixes and security updates. Do I run these? Should I also install MS Security Essentials?
So many people have viewed this thread and no one has any experience to share. Let me try being less specific. When you create a new virtual machine within Parallels and install any version of Windows OS, do you or do you not run the windows update just the same as you would if it were an actual PC machine? And do you or do you not also run antivirus software? Thank you.
Hi remltr The answer to both your questions is Yes: you should install updates and you should run antivirus software. Hope this helps Regards, Alain
