I installed Parallels recently on my MacBook and it worked just fine. Then I got a new MacBook. I used the migrator assistant to attempt to transfer my user profile but it didn't work, so in the end I just ended up copying over the Users folder and all seemed to be in order. Parallels did not copy over, however. So I downloaded the installer again, did an uninstall to make sure no bits remained, did a fresh install (it did not ask me for the registration number - warning flag #1), and when it seemed to be working fine, installed my new copy of Windows XP. Now when I start up Parallels my entire system, Mac side included, jams up until the VM is fully running. If I try to DO anything, like run QuickBooks (the reason I needed to put Windows on my Mac in the first place) then the system slows down to a painful crawl and inevitably freezes up my whole machine so that I have to force restart. I am not a techy and I have NO clue how to go about resolving this issue. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what i could do to fix this? I would not even be touching Windows were it not for the fact that QB is ONLY available for Windows in Canada. Thanks, ILANA
