    Hello,

BSD primary OS support is under consideration now. I can't give you much details about it, but most probably we'll make Parallels working on BSD around 2nd half 2006. Sorry, no more details, too long-term plans :)

I second the call for FreeBSD (or all *BSD :)) host OS support. If you need a beta tester on FreeBSD, I would be interested.

Request: Parallels Workstation 2.1 for PC-BSD too

    Hi,
This post id for all the Parallels Workstation 2.1 developers.
I'm really happy that is planned a release for FREEBSD and I would like to know if i'ts possible to buy now a licence of Parallels Workstation 2.1 for windows then have it conveted to freebsd when it will be ready.

I am currently a user of PC-BSD (a OS built on the FreeBSD operating system. Is freebsd but for newbie) and me, like many other users, would like to have your Parallels Workstation 2.1 avaiable for this OS too.

In fact PC-BSD has a PBI system - which lets users download and install their applications in a self-extracting & installing format, similar to InstallShield® on Windows® or MacOSx apps. I think It would be easy to make it available because there is also a PBI creator available.

PLEASE DON'T CONSIDER THIS AS SPAM !! CONSIDER THIS LIKE A REQUEST TO HAVE A .PBI OF YOUR Parallels Workstation 2.1. I'm not a spammer I'm only a PC-BSD enthusiast that would like to use windows as guest on PC-BSD (freebsd) OS; Me as many other user will be really happy to have it !!

I would like to know If there's another way that I can contact you all developer asking info please let me know.

Thanks in advance and sorry for this request done in this strange way !!

    Useful links

www.pbidir.com (pbi repository) -> you may download pbi creator there.

I would like to have FreeBSD host support as well.

Just bought a license for use on Linux for the time being.

Add me to the list of folks wanting a FreeBSD hosting version. You could sell 5 licenses just in my building, if you had such a thing.

    Move it up in priority?

    FreeBSD++

I would definitely buy a license for FreeBSD--it's my main OS and I _hate_ rebooting into Windows...

    hello dev team,

i would absolutely buy a license for my mac if you continue to have proper freebsd support. as of now, i saw freebsd 6 as supported under windows, but not yet on a mac. freebsd is my favourite os, so i would love to run it directly of my mac, which i have at work...

    thanks,
    overrider

This thread is about support for a FreeBSD HOST - not guest.....

Just curious on the status of this?

There are lots of people digging for a real virtual machine solution for FreeBSD, and would pay for it (I know we would at my company, along with lots of individuals and developers).

What's the status on this? Is this still underway?

We'll buy either Parallels or VMWare, whichever comes up with a FreeBSD version first. Personally, I'd prefer Parallels, but I need a virtualization option for FreeBSD host badly, so I'd take either one.

Lots of FreeBSD users/developers/admins out there are settling with slow options like QEMU. Parallels - please answer this need and we'll answer by buying licenses!

While I dearly love my MBP w/parallels, host support for FreeBSD would be extremely useful. FreeBSD is the one unix VM that I run w/a desktop under Parallels. I run the linux VM's backgrounded and ssh into them.

I would SO buy this for freebsd host.
I'm really looking for a good virtualization product to run on my favorite OS.
It will be useful just in case I need windows from time to time.

Seconded. Would appreciate it. It'd make you absolutely godlike. Only Serenity Virtual Station and QEmu are available at the moment. I have a buddy who does lots of FOSS hacking of kernels and software, and he prefers BSD to Linux for the quality, stability, consistancy, but he won't switch because there's no commercial snapshot-enabled virtualization solution for FreeBSD.

    Me too :)
    I love FreeBSD.
FreeBSD 6.2 run well in Parallels 3.0, but it would be better to have also "Parallels Tools": clipboard sharing, no mouse "jail", resolution indipendence and so on, like those for linux.
There would be also a better support for audio.
Thanks in advance also by me!
