Hi, My goal is to stay in the nice OS X world I've come to love but still do my job of developing bio-medical applications for Windows. My needs are fairly simple. I need to run an editor and an IDE in Parallels. It would be nice to run Solidworks too but that may require more horsepower than I'd like. We will see. If this all works out and the final product is stable I will be getting a fully amped up MacBookPro because it will give me the OS X I love and the ability to do my work in a window. Right now I will be testing this on a duo core Mini. Are others using the parallels environment for windows development? If so what compiler? I need to use Delphi for now. Mark
I'm planning on installing Delphi on my Mac Laptop this coming weekend and MS Visual Studio 2005 soon thereafter. I don't expect any problems as I've run Delphi in several other VM environments in the past with no problems. In fact I just bought a portable 100Gb hard drive specifically to carry my Windows development environment when I travel. I'm assuming that I'll have no problems adding a second drive to the VM. D
Cool. I have run Delphi in VPC and it is ok. Workable but not great. However I did once have OS X freeze on me (it had been running sleep/resume for about 6 days). When it froze it took out the majority of the VPC disk file corrupting many many things. I had to use a backup version. Is Parallels stable enough yet to really be useable? M
