When i share folders from mac to Windows7 - I can Only get 'read' access when in windows7.. I cannot delete/update any files in windows that were created by the mac apps (ie downloads/docs) how can I configure the shared folder to allow read/write access when in both mac * Win7
Personally I wouldn't recommend allowing wide write access for Windows on the Mac, Windows has a series of hidden files it likes to write like Thumbnails.db or desktop.ini that look silly on the Mac, besides, malware from Windows could affect Mac OS files. I would recommend instead setting just one specific folder on the mac for transferring files between the OSes. This seems a very debatable approach and not very much convenient but keeps things how they are supposed to be. Over at 'Sharing' in the VM configuration, if these are custom folders you can change the permissions by pressing 'Custom Folders...', the rest is self-explanatory.
Just for clarification, when I say "keep things how they are suppose to be", I mean that Windows and OSX have different ways of dealing with folders, which one will create its hidden files that cache information relative to the files on that folder to speed things up, these hidden files aren't hidden anymore when they are seen by the OS that didn't create them, permitting that you accidentally delete or modify them, this is only one example why I think to each its own.
