I have reviewed the many, many posts on the problems with double activation when running XP in both boot camp and parallels. However, I can't seem to get a good answer to the following question: which version of XP can be installed in both boot camp and parallels without requiring any elaborate workaround?

The posts I've seen to date seem to suggest that (1) a manufacturer-associated OEM will not work absent some kind of workaround; and (2) a full retail version will work without the need for a workaround. I saw one poster who thought the the OEM version for System Builders, like the one found at amazon.com, will entitle you to install XP on both boot camp and parallels without the necessity of a workaround. That seems like the best choice as it is slightly more expensive than the manufacturer-specific OEM but still much cheaper than full retail.

Can someone please confirm that the system builder OEM version of XP will let me install AND activate XP on both boot camp and parallels without any further hassles? Or do people think the safest bet is to simply buy the full retail version?

    Thanks.

    System Builder SHOULD be fine.
