1) When copying text from Windows, and pasting it on the Mac side, there's some invisible extra character at the end of the text. You can see this by pasting the text, and then hitting the delete key. You'll see that the last visible character does not disappear. It's the invisible one that gets deleted. This can have troublesome effects: if you're pasting text in a file name box, the file name will get truncated at the invisible character. In a web mail application, the mail message is similarly truncated. 2) Word (on the Mac side) still doesn't realize that you've copied something to the clipboard. Other applications do realize that.
