I am having a similar problem also. I have a 60 gig FireLite usb drive from SmartDisk. It mounts on my mac desktop perfectly. When I try to plug it in under windows xp, I heard the usb connect sound but it does not show up in the My Computer list. I have tried selecting it from the USB icon in the tray below the program bar and also tried selecting it from the list in the Parallels menu. I need to copy a large program file off of this drive and can not do my work without this inventory program. Help!!! Thanks, Mel

Parallels has limited UB storage support at this time. Flash devices usually work, but hard disks don't. If the disk is formatted with a filesystem OSX can read, you can share a folder on that disk from OSX and read it from your VM, but if OSX won't read the files, you probably can't access them. Better USB support has been promised. No time frame has been given other than "soon".

I too am having the USB2 external hard drive issue in a Win XP Pro VM under Parallels Build 3120. Connection is detected, and shows up under USB mass storage devices in system/devices. Does not mount under My Computer.

The drive is a FAT32 formatted 300GB SATA hard drive with two partitions and mounts fine under OS X and native Win XP Pro.

Ditto here (and I posted the same issue yesterday).

Attn Parallels Support - we all need to back up data from the VM to external drives. We urgently need USB2.0 supported on all facets.

Also - USB 1.1 worked well with 1970 - a bit slow - but most devices worked.
