Hi, today i´ve installed the U3 version of the client. Installation went throught without problem. But starting the the client from the u3 launchpad results in an error message "U3 Launchpad Beim Starten des ausgewählten Programms ist ein Fehler aufgetreten". In english something like that: " There was an error starting the choosen program". I´ve tried it on Windows Vista Premium german Windows Vista Business german (new machine out of the box) Windows XP Pro german Does anyone have an idea, what could be wrong? Regards, Matthias
yes im getting the same error .. on a cruzer micro 4gig device also you can't uninstall the 2x client from the device
Dear 2x I think, i found the reason, why your u3 version cannot run. It seems, that your manifest.u3i file is wrong. Shouldn´t there be a path like %U3_HOST_EXEC_PATH% instead of ^? I replaced the ^ with %U3_HOST_EXEC_PATH% . Installed it and it runs now. So you have to correct you manifest file. Regards, Matthias
Hi MatthiasR, You're right. There was a bug in the build of the manifest file and '^' was replacing those env variables. An updated version is found at : "http://www.2x.com/downloads/AppServer-LoadBalancer/U3_2XClient.u3p" In order to uninstall the old version one has to make the following steps: Click on 'Explore U3 Drive' from the U3 Launchpad Manually delete folder "System\Apps\fd1a3294-0261-41f4-b07c-23049b32d9e9" Eject and re-eject U3 Drive, then you should receive U3 Launchpad Error "Failed to load U3_2XClient.u3p. Do you want to remove this program from your U3 Device?" and click 'Yes', then re-install the new U3 package from "http://www.2x.com/downloads/AppServer-LoadBalancer/U3_2XClient.u3p" Thanks MatthiasR for pointing that out.
An other way would be to replace the file U3_2XClient.u3p file in folder "System\Apps\fd1a3294-0261-41f4-b07c-23049b32d9e9" with the updated one. It´s seems to be faster than deleting and reinstalling. But regardless which method is used, one has to configure the explorer to show hidden files and folders anyway. Otherwise one cannot see/find the specific folders. Btw.: The U3 client is great. Thanks for creating it. Now there is only a real browser integration (with java) missing to make Applicationserver complete. Regards, Matthias
