Error" 404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for ....

Yesterday I've installed Plesk together with VPS. Hopefully this was the answer to my problem with uploading images on Wordpress-sites which I was building locally.
However... after the succesful installation (I think) I got the following error-notification while trying to upload a new them.

404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Can anyone please help me?
I work on a Mac.
