Hello, I am getting error #15380 when installing Parallels Desktop Mac v12 latest build. The 2013 iMac was just updated to Sierra. Installation fails under existing and new users. Following some old troubleshooting advice, confirmed all user IDs are above 500 and the Root is 0. Backed up and restored with Time Machine. Have not yet done a clean install and migrate... The error appears just after the the progress bar displays "Removing old versions...". Are there any updates to a fix on this?
Two questions first: 0. do some users on your Mac have tcsh or csh as a default login shell? 1. do some users on your Mac have expired password?
It turned out that the problems disappeared for this installation when the installer was run from the Mac Applications folder. I do not think the default shell was changed. The user's password was current. It happened under a new user too. The installer was being launched from it's disk image which was on the Desktop, and later in the Shared folder.
