Image Tool cannot read data from ... I have the same problem in Parallels Desktop's Configuration Editor CD/DVD-ROM 1 / Emulation / Use CD/DVD-ROM and the CD/DVD-ROM Drive list contains two empty lines. I get an errer message: The CD/DVD-ROM name is not specified for CD/DVD-rom 1! I've already reinstall my laptop and have the same problem. BUT it works if a logged in with a different admin or normal user. The list contains two drives, the internal and the external USB drive also. My config: MacBook C2D, 2.0Ghz, 2GB RAM internale + LG external USB drive Parallels build 3188 I logged in as an admin. Please help me! Tamas
Tamas, What are the CD/DVD drives that are on your Mac? Are they somehow non-standard ones? The issue is very strange... But you still can create an image of the CD and use it with Parallels Desktop: 1. Open Applications->Utilities->Disk Utility 2. Select your CD in left pane and click "New Image" button. 3. Specify the name and location of target disk image. 4. Select "read-only" in Image Format field. 5. Select "none" in Encryption field.
I have two drives. The standard internal MacBook optical drive (MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857D) and an LG GSA-E10L. The HW is ok, it works for many weeks. My problems come first when I upgred to 3.0 beta. And of course it works other users, except me. I think it cause some config problem but I don't know what and where.
