I have been using Parrallels and Win XP. I installed the Beta version of Office 7, and set up Outlook. Outlook set up my mail.mac.com account as a POP, and all of my messages have disappeared from both Mail on my MBP, and also on the .Mac server. All of the messages are now in the inbox of Outlook. Is there anyway I can change/reverse this? I have deleted my Mac mail account from Outlook so that it would stop "stealing" my email. I tried to do a rebuild on my Mac mail, but still no luck. I would like to get all of the messages back onto the Mac mail account. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Also, if this is of any help, I checked my <home>/Library/Mail/Mailboxes folder, and there is no messages under the inbox folder. The other 3 accounts I have set up (2 earthlink POP and 1 Mac mail) are there, with the messages in the Inbox folders.

I don't use Outlook because it's the world's finest virus delivery system, but I'm sure it, like all the other mailers I've seen, will allow you to tell it to leave mail on the server, either forever, or for a specified period of time. This will allow you to pop your mail in Outlook and still pop it with another client. Of course if that client deletes the mail from the server before Outlook sees it, you won't see it in Outlook. If you have a mailer choice, I recommend Eudora Pro, which I've been using for many more years than I'd like to admit. It can be set to use its own safe HTML renderer, and doesn't download net content (avoiding HTML viruses and web bugs).
