I just uninstalled Paralles new verision on my new MacBook using the uninstall utility that shows up when you run the install file. However when I run the Disk Utility it looks like the partition is still there?? Is it and do I remove that manually??

Parallels, on its own, doesn't create a disk partition - it uses "virtual" disks that show up as regular files.

If you have a "windows" partition showing up in Disk Utility, then that was probably created by Boot Camp, not Parallels - even if you were using parallels in "use boot camp" mode. Use the "boot camp" utilities (lurking somwhere in "Applications") to completely remove MS Windows from your machine if that's really what you want to do!.

Did you get the dealer to install windows on your new machine? If so, they'd probably have used Boot Camp.

(D'oh! option: are you sure you're not just looking at the Parallels installer .dmg, which you can just "eject" normally?)
