I am trying to figure out why all the images in my C:\Windows\System32\oobe\images folder have disappeared. The most likely culprit, I figure, is Compressor. If that is indeed the case I would advise Parallels to be a bit more careful, since some of the files are needed by Windows. Here's my story: I made a change to the network card setting and now Windows demands a reactivation. When the activation wizard pops up, I noticed these image-missing icon scattered about. No big deal, really, except one of these icon appears directly under the installation id needed for a telephone activation. With the text being white and the icon also being largely white, it was impossible to make out one of the digits. So I had to spend hours hunting down another Windows box and then to find what the missing files were, before I could do the reactivation. XP Activation was annoying enough. Running into such a silly problem was nearly enough to make me jump out a window
