I made a backup a few weeks ago of a perfectly working Win XP partition, I just made a disk image in Mac Disk Utility. Now Boot Camp will no longer boot and I have gotten nowhere with repair using my XP installation CD. Win XP in Parallels is also having some problems so I would like to go back and use the backup I made. I cannot figure out how to do this and wonder whether it is even possible. I can expand my widnows xp disk image on the Mac desktop, but I cannot figure out how to get rid of my old Win XP partition and use the oler backup version. Any advice? Thanks, Howard
I'm hoping this is possible, since that is also the approach I would like to take, keep a clean restore image of my Boot Camp (just installed today) for emergencies. What about this link, "Phase III" specifically: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20061025130528687 Does that make any sense? I've made a disk image of my Boot Camp Windows FAT32 partition, but I haven't tried restoring it yet. But it sounds logical. I'm wondering what process other people are using.
