Parallels Deskup Upgrade to Windows 7 was a disaster for me. Many
of my key applications were not transfers at all.

Text support sounded off-shore and was not any to help. Within
moments they were trying to convinience me that this was the
fault of the third party applications and I therfore needed to pay
them more money for support. I asked to speak to a manager
or be given a refund, and was placed on hold. That was 40 minutes
    ago...

Re: No Internet connection after upgrading from Parallels 5 to 6 and using Parallels
Desktop for Upgrading to Windows 7

"DHCP is not enabled for 'Local Area Connection'

    Unknown Network…not connected to Internet

    Things to check out…..

    1. If using a wireless Mac Mighty Mouse, when asked to right click on something,
insure you are right clicking using the extreme right top of the mouse…it makes a
    difference.

    2. Insure Parallels Tools is installed….check out http://kb.parallels.com/8969 for
    instructions

    3. If still no Internet Connection do the following:

    Shut down Windows

Under Virtual Machine at the top of the Parallels Desktop screen, choose
Virtual Machine / Configure / Hardware and highlight whatever you see there
    that refers to Network.

Click the + symbol at the bottom of the drop down list.

Choose Network. A new Network, probably called "Network 2" will have been
created and added to the drop down list. With this highlighted, go the the
"Type" drop down list, which is shown as "Shared Network" and open up the
drop down list. Choose "Default Adaptor".

Insure that the "Connected" box above this is checked.

Startup Windows and try connecting to the Internet using Internet Explorer.
No need to "Select a location for the 'Network 2' network"

    If this worked, Shutdown Windows

Under Virtual Machine at the top of the Parallels Desktop screen, choose
Virtual Machine / Configure / Hardware

Highlight your previous Network, probably called "Network 1" and hit the -
sign to remove it. Notice that now the "Network 2" changed to "Network 1"
    Click OK

Startup Windows and try connecting to the Internet using Internet Explorer.

    Things should be fine now.
