I want to disable coherence. I can't stand that it doesn't work correctly when Universal Access for Assistive Devices is enabled. I can live without coherence but not without Universal Access. I tried using Parallels Tools inside my WinXP image, but the checkbox to disable coherence is grayed out so I can't uncheck it. Parallels is 3.0 at build 4560. I created the image fresh today after updating Parallels to 4560. I also tried reinstalling Parallels Tools.
Coherence doesn't really have anything to do with why keyboard shortcuts won't work when Universal Access for Assistive Devices is enabled, so disabling Coherence really won't do anything for you. I've proposed this change that would fix this problem so hopefully the Parallels team will consider it. Unfortunately I don't have anything to suggest right now though.
Uninstall Parallels Tools. Restart the VM, and re-install Parallels Tools but chose Custom instead of complete. Uncheck "Coherence Mode" and finish the install. Viola!
