Hi everyone: I am having problem opening the LocationFree Player (a Sony's software for its LocationFree Base Station LF-B20). It encounters an error as follows:

"Failed to initialize DirectX. Please restart your PC and try again. For details, click "Help" button and refer to help. (Error Code:0200101394024)"

When I open the "Help", it said that the hardware acceleration might be set too low. But when I looked, the hardware acceleration is set at "Full"

I read some posts saying that Parellels does not support DirectX yet, is this why the software won't run?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

    No DirectX yet....

If you need DirectX, Boot Camp is your only alternative, at least for now. I hope to see it come at some point soon. I think many here will agree.

It certainly seems as if LocationFree will work with Paralles. They talk about it and show a video of it in this review:

However, I get the same error you got, but was then able to download the latest version from Sony and it works OK.
