Hi, I'm wondering what the difference between Parallels Desktop (for Mac) and Parallels Workstation Extreme are, I noticed you can dedicate a graphics card memory to OS, so you can have multiple cards being used...

On Parallels Desktop, I find the graphics are more limited than a normal windows PC, even running Safari 4.0 on windows, is very very laggy, games can't have max graphics settings etc... I assume that won't be a problem on the Workstation Extreme...

Can anyone tell me..? is it worth upgrading?

    Kind Regards

    Hello,

    1) you are not able to upgrade from Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac Parallels Workstation Extreme, as Parallels Workstation Extreme is for Windows and Linux OS (http://www.parallels.com/products/extreme/sr/)

    2) for current moment Parallels Workstation Extreme is OEM product (not retail)

Indeed Parallels Workstation has many features but it is different product.

Can you pleaseprovide me with more information about the issues with Parallels Desktop 4.0?

Ah ok, I see, yes I can provide more details, with Age of Empires III The Asian Dynasties, I can not set Shader quality to Very High, it can only be High, and I can not use any AA settings (these settings don't even show up, but in my old windows computer, they did), for Safari 4.0, I'm not sure why, but when I'm at the top sites menu, I hold my mouse over a websites image, it takes 2-4 seconds to highlight with the blue border around it, on my Mac it's instant.

I've also noticed in Coherence, when I drag windows around, it looks like it's updating really slowly, (don't notice anything when dragging Mac windows), and I don't notice nearly as much when in Full Screen mode (although I do slightly)

I get the occasional freeze, not sure what to say about that, but I just force quit and start up again, and it resumes from where I was (only started happening recently), that's all I can remember at the moment...

Is this normal behavior (the graphics things)?

Just ask if you need any more info

    Kind Regards
    Me
