I was pushing the limit on disk space, so I turned off the VM and then tried to increase the Hard Drive space by going though the Config Editor and increasing from the default 8 gigs to 10 gigs.

When I turned on the VM instead of all being well, I got a prompt that Parallels is looking for a new OS. I cannot seem to retrieve my previously configured Guest OS... Can I get it back?

What happened? What did I do wrong?

    Thanks

If you used recreate, then yes, your original virtual disk is gone. If you have a backup (next time?) restore it and use the image tool to expand it, then look at the sticky thread for further info on how to get Windows to recognize the additional space.

If you have no backup, create a new HDD, but make it MUCH bigger than you think you will ever use. Use the expanding option and it won't take up space you aren't using.
