I have a DHCP reservation for the Ethernet NIC in the Mac. I am using bridged mode for the guest OS. The guest OS is being assigned the same IP address as the Mac Ethernet even though the MAC of the guest adapter is different that that of the Mac.

    I am using Windows 2003 SP1 as a guest.

    Any ideas?

This may happen if you're bridging to AirPort. Due to constrainsts of 802.11 packets sent from the guest OS through AirPort have host MAC address on them. Your DHCP server decided not to use client identifier from DHCP request but just picked source ethernet address from the packet. You may wish to reconfigure DHCP server if possible.
Alternatively you can bridge to wired Ethernet Adapter or configure VM network as Host Only and turn on Internet Sharing for Parallels Host-Guest Adapter (en2).

Yes, I lied (okay, it was a temporary memory lapse), I was using AirPort at the time. Thank you for the suggestion. I should be able to use the wired connection for the time being.

Will this likely always be a problem when sharing the AirPort interface?
