Desktop Icons disappear, was intermittent until today. (Oct 2024)

    Just wondering what is up with the desktop icons missing. The only update I have recently taken is the Parallels. When this happened a few days ago....I just rebooted my laptop and all icons returned. Not today. The only icon that shows up today is the Macintosh HD, main hard drive icon.
