Parallels install seems to break DAVE 6.2 (as indeed did Virtual PC v7). The VPC workaround was to use Virtual Switch instead of Shared networking. At the moment I can access my work network ok using my VM, but not using OSX! Anyone else see this problem? Otherwise a great piece of SW, all credit to you!
Update: Re-installed DAVE (I had installed it before Parallels) and restarted, and all is now ok, except that I cannot access the share I created on the VM from OSX. I can however access it from another PC on the network. Strange.....
I used to use Dave with OS 9 but since SMB is built in to OS X, I haven't seen a need for it. Why is Dave necessary any more? Also, I've had no trouble accessing a VM share from OS X using the built-in "Connect to server" after I followed the instructions on an Apple website (see an earlier post by me to find the reference) D
I cannot reliably connect to printers in my workplace without DAVE. I get SAMBA errors, and sometimes NT NAME errors. DAVE seems to work well.....
