Always received the "Unable to switch…" into Coherence message. Also the mouse never automatically released (had to use CTR + ALT CONSTANTLY) Tried just about everything; Mac OS X Snow Leopard Vista drivers, uninstalling Parallels Tools (after uninstalling ALL Microsoft updates that were "blocking" this process), and still nothing. Reinstalled Parallels Tools. Nothing. Ad infinitum. The only thing that worked? Reinstalling Windows 7 Ultimate from scratch. That is really awful. I'm not sure what the culprit here is, but that's my fix for you having problems. I figured after 80 minutes or more of trying to diagnose the problem, I just started from scratch. Which took less time, in the end. Of course, now I have to reinstall applications and settings… Aero experience rating is still 1. MacBook Pro, 2.53 GHz, 4GB Ram, (nVidia 9400M). Woohoo.
