For years I have been using Bootcamp WinXP HDD with Parallels 7.0 on my MacPro 2009. Now I wish to create a Virtual Machine in the "Shared" folder so I can get rid of the Bootcamp HDD and at the same time keep backups of the VM. I have tried to follow descriptions of the procedure, the help section, etc., but it never worked out and I had to fall back on the Bootcamp solution.

Pls help me find a document with reliable information on the necessary steps.

    Thanks a lot.

(With the VM selected) File > Import Bootcamp

You can then put the .pvm in the Shared folder.
