    Hi,
I upgraded to version 5 from version 3 yesterday, and Parallels started the conversion procedure automatically when I opened my Windows XP VM. The VM size is around 14GB, and I'm running a Mac Mini Core Duo 1.6 Ghz with 1.5 GB RAM. The completion bar has been on full (end of step 4 of 4) for over 18 hours now, and the complete process has been going on for around 20 hours. There is still Parallels process activity in the activity monitor. Is this normal? Should I just let it run, or have things gone horribly wrong?
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Terry.

Like you, I've just tried installing 5 over 3; I got to step 2 and then it stalled, so I went into manual mode and managed to dismiss a Windows dialogue box and got to to the end of step 4 where it stalled again. Once more, into manual mode and once again, dismissing a Windows dialogue box. Then it came up but for me, with an almost Vanilla Windows installation, which I couldn't use. If you don't go into manual mode, the installer will hang forever!
I've gone back to 3.0 until I have time to figure out what what's going wrong (probably the virtual HD conversion).
Sorry I couldn't be more positive!

    Should take about 30-40 minutes

    Hi
Moved from old MacMini to new MacMini. MigrationAssistent could not copy Parallels 3.
I copied it manually to the new Applications-Folder. Installed Parallels 5, activated. Conversion of 8Gb Windows XP-Stuff in about 30 minutes. Had to restart WinXP several times to load new Parallels-stuff and upgrade. After that it's running and mostly ok - when I start Parallels 5 on my new MacMini it wants to connect to my old MacMini. Although this can be cancelled (and Parellels runs normal) I want to find out how I can stop this behaviour. Maybe someone has an idea.

    It's summer here. Enjoy.
