Connect Windows VM to Lion Server VPN

I have a Windows 7 Pro virtual machine using Parallels 7. I'm also using the Lion Server app to create a VPN. I can't get the virtual machine to connect to the VPN.

I followed this guide to set it up. The instructions worked when tested on a physical machine but no luck on the virtual machine.

I thought it might have something to do with the VPN server and the virtual machine being on the same physical machine. I tried running them on separate physical machines but its still not able to connect.

I would REALLY appreciate your help getting parallels working with Lion Server VPN. Thanks.
